Everett Wagar resided in Grafton all his life. He was educated in industrial arts at Grafton Schools and a graduate of Troy High School. He was a machine maintenance worker for 43 years retiring in 1980. He was a founding member of the Grafton Fire Company and its Chief for 30 years. He was the Fire Commissioner for 20 years, and in charge of the radio tower. He was also a founder of the Rescue Squad and a member of the Grafton United Methodist Church and a member of the Official Board. He founded the Grafton Library and was a Trustee of the Grafton Historical Society, a US meteorological weather recorder and was also a Navy veteran of World War II. He died in 2003.
